In November we held our Breen team event, where employees and their partners were invited to experience the new Lake Dunstan Cycle & Walking Trail , either by foot OR bike.
We had a great turn out with 9 people walking 25km from Cornish Point to the Dunstan Arms Rowing Club in Clyde (which took them around 6 hours), and approx 50 cyclists in total, who had the option of various rides. Some going both ways, leaving from the Dunstan Rowing club to Cromwell and back again (outstanding effort!!), another group joining in to cycle one way leaving from Cromwell, and another group biking one way from Cornish point.
We also had 8 volunteers helping out on the day. A huge thank you to these people, along with the Dunstan Rowing Club for their hospitality, The Bakery for providing a delicious lunch, Coffee Afloat for the refreshments along the way, and to Clutha River Tours for their support on the lake. And Thank you and well done to everyone who got involved. It was a great way to spend time with colleagues who you might not usually get to see or speak to much, and what better way to do it than keeping fit and enjoying the stunning Central Otago scenery.
We were lucky enough to have amazing weather with many people enjoying a dip in the lake at the end, followed by a BBQ and beers at the Rowing Club. A great day out was had by all!
Also, a big thank you to the team at Image central for the great team photos and video!
