Why join Breen Construction?
For nearly 85 years, Breen has been a pioneer in construction. What began in Southland and then Central Otago, today spans from Oamaru to Twizel, Dunedin to Invercargill, Alexandra to Wanaka. Our skilled teams work together to deliver exceptional commercial, civil, rural and residential projects.
Breen’s beginnings as a small family business are still very much the heart of who we are today. We pull together, do great work and encourage each other to be better, every single day. We look for like-minded, excellent operators and agile thinkers who are great at what they do.
The Job
Breen has been involved in infrastructure development since 1960, building bridges, irrigation schemes, refuse centres, power stations, substations, reservoirs and dams. We complete a wide range of civil structure construction for large and small-scale civil engineering projects. Much of our civil work takes us out back country and beyond – from grape-growing country in Bannockburn to the foothills of the Southern Alps.
Strong growth in our civil structures business means we are looking for additional crew members. We are looking for Carpenters, Leading Hands and a Project Manager to support the current pipeline of work.
About you
The ideal candidate will have existing experience working on a range of civil structures projects. You'll have in-depth knowledge of formwork, concrete pouring and steel-fixing, and your general carpentry skills will be on point. You’ll need excellent communication and teamwork skills, be able to interpret and work from technical drawings and specifications, and have personal drive, initiative and a strong commitment to health and safety.
In addition, you must have the ability to carry out physically demanding work and be willing to work in all weather conditions.
We offer you
· Great supportive team within a company that has a genuinely people-focused culture
· We will invest in your growth, value your contribution and nurture your personal and professional development
· Competitive remuneration package
· Health insurance and service bonuses
· Regular company functions and social events, including an active social club
