Breen Tee Kids: Giving Kids a Front-Row Dream

Our partnership with the Highlanders rugby team is about more than logos on jerseys or signage on game day. It’s about creating experiences that people remember long after the final whistle.

Each year, this partnership allows us to offer some six young people the chance to be a Highlanders Tee Kid at a home game in Dunedin – an experience that puts them right in the heart of Super Rugby.

A Once‑in‑a‑Lifetime Experience
Our Tee Kids are usually aged between 8 and 14 and come from across the lower South Island. Some are kids of our Breen team, some are children of our clients, and others come to us through competitions we run across the region.

Every year, we ask aspiring Tee Kids to tell us why they should be chosen. They can send in a letter or a video – and the creativity, humour and passion that comes through never disappoints.

In 2025, one of those entries was a standout. Young Fergus Ross’s video submission was so good it caught the attention of the Sky Sport team. Fergus was invited to do a crossover segment with Joe Wheeler!

Right on the Sideline
Being a Breen Tee Kid isn’t about sitting in the stands. The kids are right in there, with their team, on or behind the players’ bench.

For many of them, it’s their first time inside a professional rugby environment – feeling the crowd, hearing the impact, and seeing what elite sport looks like up close.

Parents regularly tell us how much the experience builds confidence. Kids who might be shy at school suddenly find themselves running onto the field in front of thousands of fans, knowing they belong there.

We’re looking forward to another great season this year. Follow us on Facebook to see how our 2026 Tee Kids go.
